Did you know that we had a Hardware Store in Oakwood?

We’ve actually been open for business since 2002 at 4272 Mundy Mill in Oakwood, but you’d be amazed at how many people have just recently realized and recognized that we are in fact a fully stocked True Value hardware store in addition to being one of the largest Outdoor Power Equipment dealers in North Georgia!

You see this is what the store looked like before the remodel:

And this is what our street sign looked like:

Let’s face the facts… We made it really difficult for folks driving down McEver and Mundy Mill Road to know what we did. That street sign was ugly, and the store front wasn’t much better.

But Check out our new exterior!

So much better. People know what we are now. Our foot traffic has increased so much just because of the exterior, but when you step inside… you see the real changes.

I won’t even show you the before pics on this, but literally every item in our Hardware Store was physically reviewed/moved and for the most part, replaced.

We had a great hardware store and good selection before, but our newly remodeled store offers people in our community one place to go for all of their hardware and home-improvement needs. The design and layout reflects retail best practices. It offers shoppers a better shopping environment where they can easily locate a wide selection in categories such as hardware, paint, plumbing, electrical and lawn & garden.

This project wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t done without a lot of preparation and planning. We carefully aligned our product selection to meet the needs of our community and the expectations of our local customers. We are PROUD to be independently, locally owned and managed. Even though we get the great support of True Value Hardware (who really did a phenomenal job in helping us with decisions and planning) we were able to keep what makes Howard Brothers unique and loved, but improve in areas that we know we lacked in.

By the way, all the products are new and fresh, but we still have a lot of those hard to find items that people expect from Howard Brothers. Don’t Fret.

Our Power Equipment Guys Were Also Busy During the Remodel!

Not to be outdone, the Power Equipment team totally overhauled their area. Making the parts department and sales area more efficient. We’ve learned A LOT since we opened our Alpharetta store and have started making similar changes in our other locations. Our HUGE parts inventory is closer to the counter, so we can serve our parts customers quicker… getting them back to work, and allowing us to help more folks quicker!

When we get to spring 2015, and our commercial landscape customers are needing blades, and parts… They’re gonna LOVE this set up.

But let’s stop looking at pictures of the remodel and talk about the Grand Opening!

First of all we’re gonna have a Ribbon Cutting on Friday, December the 12th at noon. And if you’ve seen how we do ribbon cutting ceremonies, you won’t want to miss this one. There will be a chainsaw. No scissors for us!

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we will be having specials everyday. There will be food from the Big Green Eggs, Traeger and Smokin’ Tex.

But on Saturday the Fun really starts.

  • From 9-11am, WDUN will be doing a Live remote from the parking lot. Joel Williams will be onsite to chat with folks, and WDUN will be giving away a lot of prizes.
  • FOOD and LOTS OF IT! There will be smoke in the air. There will be Good Eats! Don’t miss it.
  • 20% Off Bucket Sale! Grab a Free 5 gallon bucket and get 20% off anything you can fit in it (some exclusions apply)
  • There is a LOAD of sale items that we will be posting to our Facebook page next week. You gotta go over there and follow us to learn about them.
  • Door Prizes. Oh yes… If you know us, you will want to register to win some door prizes that we’ll be giving away on Saturday.

We really hope to see you at the opening, but if you’re not able to make it, we just hope you’ll give us one chance to become your Neighborhood Hardware Store. As an independent retailer, we’re committed to helping support and sustain the local economy and we are committed to our customers and to providing them with the best shopping experience possible.
