Have you seen the CBS show, Undercover Boss before?
UNDERCOVER BOSS is an Emmy Award-winning reality series that follows high-level corporate executives as they slip anonymously into the rank-and-file of their own companies. Each week, a different executive will leave the comfort of their corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their corporation.
John Hartmann, the President and CEO of True Value, one of the largest hardware cooperatives in the world, reactivates his undercover skills from his time as an FBI agent when he investigates the state of the True Value company and employees, on the sixth season premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS, Sunday, Dec. 14(8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Howard Brothers has been a member of the True Value hardware cooperative since 1972. True Value used to be one of the biggest and most well known brands in the ‘hardware’ business in the United States before big boxes like Home Depot and Lowes came along. It was even more known than Ace Hardware (and people walk in our stores ALL THE TIME and think that we’re an Ace Hardware.)
Over the past year or so, True Value has been making some great changes that will bring back the True Value name into relevant discussion when it comes to branding awareness. We’re more excited now than ever to be associated with the brand of True Value. In fact, we’ve been remodeling our 3 hardware stores and making a bigger effort to be recognized as a True Value Hardware because of the expected positive branding that is coming.
John Hartmann has been a huge part of the reorganization of True Value and we’re excited to see the changes that he is making. A better national brand of True Value can only help us improve our efforts at the local level. Nothing changes as far as our focus on our local markets, but we get better materials and aid from True Value with this renewed branding.
