So you decided to purchase a product from the big box and now you find yourself needing to get it serviced. What do you do? You start calling around and asking all the small engine repair shops if they can service or provide maintenance for it. The greatest problem you will run into is finding a shop that has access to the original manufacturer parts for your power equipment.
The other problem, is most smaller shops have one guy who actually does the repairs, and most of the time, he is the same guy who has to check in the equipment, source the parts, contact customers… he’d be much more efficient if he had more time to actually turn wrenches. He’s definitely not going to be excited to assist with warranty and known manufacturer issues.
Many people call Howard Brothers to see if they can service their equipment, but here’s the catch… we only service brands we represent and sell. We could get parts, we could service the off brands, but we have made the business decision to be experts with the brands we sell. Our technicians are factory trained. They receive yearly educational updates on the products we sell. Being a small business, we don’t like to tell people that we can’t help them, but we are much better stewards of the brands we sell, because we only accept them into our shop.
That is why if you call us and ask if we service:
- John Deere
- Black and Decker
- Troy Bilt
- Yard Machines
You’re gonna hear us tell you that, no, we don’t service those products. If you need parts for those brands, I invite you to check out either the manufacturers website or you can check out Rotary, which is a supplier of aftermarket parts for many of these brands.
We do sell these brands. We do offer parts for these brands (in fact we probably have the part instock and ready for you to pick up) We service these brands. If you have one of these brands and need help, give us a call or come on in.
